This is the announcement at the Tasmanian Ultimate Association AGM has been scheduled for 21 March 2016. The meeting will be held at the location of the summer social league fields (currently Sandown Park) at 6:50 pm, immediately after the finish of the round of beginner division games. All members of the Tasmanian ultimate community are encouraged to come along to the AGM. The meeting is expected to take approximately 15-20 minutes.
The TUA is run by volunteers who contribute their time to make sure that the association is able to facilitate and promote the sport of Ultimate in Tasmania. According to the TUA Constitution, the AGM is to be held within 3 months of the end of the association’s financial year, to: receive reports about the transactions and finances over the previous year, appoint an auditor for the coming year, elect officers and general committee members of the association, and determine their remuneration.
The officer positions (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary) are open for election at the AGM. If you wish to nominate yourself for an officer position before the meeting, you need to let the public officer of the association (currently Andy Cole, email@example.com) know formally in writing at least 10 days in advance of the AGM (i.e., nominations must be received by 11 March). If only one nomination for a position is received, the nominated person is elected without a vote. If zero nominations for a position are received, then nominations can be taken from the floor during the AGM.
Up to 10 general committee members may also be elected at the AGM. If you enjoy playing, coaching, or supporting Ultimate in Tasmania and have ideas about how to organise and grow the sport, please consider becoming a committee member! Meetings are monthly and friendly.
