A huge thank you to Nick Smith for running the indoor league.

Where: Friends’ Sports Fields (Top Ground), New Town
Cost: $80 Early Bird Fee by 3 September ($100 Standard Fee)
Make sure you register and pay the Early Bird Fee before 3 September to avoid paying more than you need to. The cost of registration will continue to increase as we get closer to the tournament.
The weekend activities will kick of with the Philip Redneck Ruddock Throw Them Overboard Disc Golf Classic being held on the Friday (12 October) evening before the Two-Hat. The first tee-off time will be around 7:30pm.
The 10th edition of the Winter Indoor Tournament (previously know as the halfWIT) has been run and won. The one-day indoor hat tournament was held on Sunday 8 July with 19 players on 4 teams competing in the competition.
Congratulations to Short One who won the final and claimed the coveted silver spoons. Short One also showed their class by sharing the prize for the most spirited team with Jazz Handlers. Vincent Yap claimed both the Style and Guts in the final prizes by playing out the final with a cramped quad. The MVPs were KJ Johnson/Madeline Dyer for the women and Mike Baker/Matt Petrie for the men.
A big thanks goes to Peter Marendy for running another successful indoor tournament.
Registration for the Winter Indoor League 2018 is now open. The league will run on Sundays for 6 weeks from 22 July until 26 August with each team playing 2 games a week between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.

The Tasmanian Ultimate Association AGM has been officially scheduled for Monday 26 March 2018. The meeting will be held at Rugby Park at 7pm, after the end of beginner league. Intermediate league will start later at 7.30. All members of the Tasmanian ultimate community are invited and encouraged to come along to the AGM. It’s not a big time commitment – it usually takes only 15 or 20 minutes.
The officer positions (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary) are open for election at the AGM, with our President and Secretary leaving their roles this year. There is also space for at least four more general committee members (we can have up to 10). The TUA only runs with the support of its community, so if you enjoy playing, coaching, or supporting Ultimate in Tasmania, please consider becoming a committee member! Meetings are monthly and friendly.
If you wish to nominate yourself for an officer position before the meeting, you need to let the public officer of the association (me!) know formally in writing at least 10 days in advance of the AGM (i.e., nominations must be received by 7pm on 16 March). Email/SMS/instant messenger notification is an acceptable form of writing. If only one nomination for a position is received, the nominated person is elected without a vote. If no nominations are received, nominations can be taken from the floor during the AGM.
The TUA is run by volunteers who contribute their time to make sure that the association is able to facilitate and promote the sport of Ultimate in Tasmania. According to the TUA Constitution, the AGM is to be held within 3 months of the end of the association’s financial year, to: receive reports about the transactions and finances over the previous year, appoint an auditor for the coming year, elect officers and general committee members of the association, and determine their remuneration (none, except pizza).
The current officers, membership of the committee, and minutes of previous meetings (including last year’s AGM) are available online at http://www.tasultimate.com/about/tua-committee/
