Reports are coming in regarding Tassie’s performance at The National Championships (AUC2011). The good news is that our Tasmanian representative players all performed brilliantly.
The open team, Quoll, had mixed success in terms of score-line. The level of competition was high and the team ended up placing 16th, from 16 teams. However, Quoll comes home maintaining the Tasmanian tradition of winning Spirit for the tournament! Congratulations to all concerned.
Currently we haven’t heard how our Tassie women fared whilst playing for Southside. If anyone has any information about their tournament results please let us know in the comments!
Also of note, Mike Baker played for Chilly and ended up in the Open final after some close games. Unfortunately Chilly were unable to beat Colony Pillage, a team from Sydney, so Mike comes home with a silver.
Shelly Slater played for Wildcard who took out top spot in the Women’s championship. Well done Shelly!
Players can now shift their focus to Mixed Nationals or Southern Uni Games! If you’re interested in representing Tasmania at a tournament then don’t be scared! It is great fun and you’ll learn a lot about Ultimate in the process!
