Updates Updates Updates

Hi all!  Here are some updates on the various activities that have been happening around Ultimate lately:

Annual Dinner

The Annual Dinner occurred last night and was a great success.  A good number of people enjoyed a fun evening of socialisation and were able to participate in the recognition of several important people within our Ultimate community.

A full wrap up of all the awards will be posted in the next couple of days.  In the meantime, the following major awards are worthy of note:

Lifetime Membership: Jemery Day

Volunteer of the Year: Andrew Binny

Black and Blue: Shavawn Donoghue

Player of the Year: Steven Wright

Female Rising Star of the Year: Alice Patterson-Robert

Male Rising Star of the Year: Stephen Joyce

Thanks to all who came along and participated in a great night.  Special mention to our president, Joe Boyer, who facilitated the organisation of the dinner and took care of the MC duties as well.

Autumn Social League

Autumn Social League kicked off last Sunday.  With a flurry of registrations right up to the day the result was a 6 team draw in the intermediate division with 4 teams in beginners.

Nearly-final team lists are available on the Autumn Social League page along with the results from the first week.  I believe week two games are kicking off as I type this!

Advanced League

Advanced League got off to a slightly shaky start last Monday with a lack of lighting being available at Sandown.  A quick relocation to the Uni fields occurred and then a great game got underway between Bread and The Clap.  Utilising some valuable pickups The Clap came out strong with a 5-2 lead.  Bread managed to claw their way back to 7 all and then points were traded up to the final siren.

After some tense moments Bread were able to obtain a turnover and eventually win the game 11-10.

Full team lists and a schedule of games are available on the Advanced League page.  Results will be made available shortly.

This Monday’s game will be held at Sandown at 6:00pm.
