Spring Social League 2011 – Finals week!

Due to some last minute field restrictions the finals for Spring League have been brought forward a week. This Monday saw the completion of the semi-finals which will be used to determine places for the grand finals week!

Importantly, some outdated information on our website may have given your team the impression that there were no games for you in finals week. Rest assured that this is not the case. The finals were brought forward a week specifically to enable us to have the field space required to accommodate finals games for all teams and players with the added bonus of everyone being in one location.

Below is a bunch of important information relating to finals week:

Here’s the facts you need to know:

  • All teams will be playing in finals week! Everyone has an opportunity to influence their place on the final standings within the league.
  • All games will be held at Sandown,
  • The Intermediate 5 v 6 playoff will be a shortened game due to lack of lighting, allowing more spectators for the grand final.
  • There will be a BBQ running alongside the intermediate finals. All players are encouraged to hang around and watch the intermediate finals whilst partaking in some food and beverages.
  • After the BBQ there will be awards ceremony for various league-related prizes.
  • It would be appreciated if all teams could bring along a salad and/or a drink for sharing with the other teams. Meat, bread and vegetarian BBQ options will be provided.

In the week after the finals (December 12) there will be a Frisbee Festival! This is a social event for all players and should be a lot of fun in the lead up to Christmas. The Frisbee Festival is likely to be held at the Uni Rugby Fields at a time to be confirmed soon.
