Winter Social League Wrap Up

In addition to the Winter Advanced League coming to a close recently the indoor social league also finished up. By all reports it was a fun league and there’s no doubt some people who will miss the fast-paced indoor action over the spring/summer months.

Here’s a wrap up form the League Organisers, Nicholas Oldfied and Michael Zehmeister:

With just five weeks of round robin games for Ultimate Winter Indoor 2014, the Indoor Beginner and Intermediate Leagues saw some great competition, intermingled with the traditional ‘lights-turning-off-early-in-Week-1’ at Aurora Stadium that we’ve all come to know and love.

The Finals saw Frisky Discs – the brand new Tasmanian Ultimate Beginner team – take the Grand Final in the Beginner League, with a closely fought game against All Blacks. Congratulations to Frisky Discs (who were looking great in their specially-made finals shirts!) – we hope to see you again soon in the upcoming outdoor Spring League!

Guts in the Beginner’s Final went to Nick Forrest – the Captain of the new Frisky Discs team, with Style in the Final going to Mellow’s Phillip Harris.

The Intermediate League was closely fought throughout the whole season with only a mere three points separating each of the four teams on the ladder. In the Semi Finals, Fire Truck upset the first placed Mellow, and went on to play Envy in the Grand Final, which ended with Envy triumphant over Fire Truck.

Guts in the Intermediate Final went to Tim Stoneman, with Style in the Final going to Josh Ashley.

A massive thank you goes out to the Edwards’ for cooking the bbq and helping feed everyone, and a big thank you to to everyone who helped out during the season.

The TUA extend their thanks to Nick and Michael for running a great league!
